This tail does restrict movement, so children who wear it must be supervised even in shallow water. It is not meant for swimming or use in chlorinated water or on rough surfaces, as it damages the fabric. Each tail is sewn to last through many hours of mermaid play and has stretchy fabric which is forgiving and comfortable. This can be hand washed and air dried.
